"Soy actor desde los 18 años y habría sido actor con o sin Bond", comentó el actor, quien aseguró que siempre estará agradecido con este personaje que es el que le ha permitido "estar hoy aquí". Con todo el respeto por Bond, no es más que "un personaje en mi carrera", insistió Brosnan, resignado a que no le dejen de preguntar por el papel que le dio fama mundial y que abandonó hace ya diez años.
A Venecia acudió de la mano de la directora Susanne Bier ("In A Better World"), quien dirige una encantadora historia de amor con "Love is All You Need", coprotagonizada por el irlandés y la danesa Trine Dyrholm.
En esta cinta, que se muestra fuera de concurso, Brosnan da vida a un hombre de negocios que viaja a Italia para la boda de su hijo con la hija de una peluquera que se recupera del cáncer y a la que da vida Dyrholm ("The Celebration"). Ella es alegre, femenina, positiva, mientras que él es un hombre permanentemente enojado, con un pasado triste y que vive alejado de su familia.
"Las monumentales celebraciones familiares te enfrentan con quien tú eres", explicó la realizadora, para quien las dudas y los secreto que hay todas las familias y de los que nadie habla tienden a salir en las fiestas familiares.
El actor, que también intervino en el musical "Mamma Mia", donde también se celebraba una boda, comentó que es cierto que existe una similitud temática entre ambas películas, pero esta es "más real". Para mí, agregó, es una película sobre la esperanza y la fe, pero también de confianza.
Brosnan, cuyo personaje pierde de forma trágica a su esposa, comentó que hubo muchos elementos del personaje con los que podía empatizar, pues él perdió a su primera mujer por el cáncer.
Tanto la directora como la actriz protagonista elogiaron al actor por su encanto y elegancia. "Todas las mujeres del set se enamoraron de él", dijo Bier. "Y los hombres también", apostilló Dyrholm.

Shooting Starts On A Long Way Down
Principal photography is underway on A Long Way Down. The film is currently being shot on location in England and Spain.
Nick Hornby’s (‘About A Boy’, ‘High Fidelity’) irreverent hit novel has been adapted for the screen by Jack Thorne (How I Live Now, The Scouting Book for Boys) and is directed by Pascal Chaumeil (Heartbreaker, Fly Me to the Moon).

El actor irlandés ha cosechado muy buenas críticas en Venecia por su última interpretación en 'Love is All You Need'
Venecia. (dpa).- "James Bond me perseguirá el resto de mi vida", aseguró hoy en Venecia el actor Pierce Brosnan, que interpretó al agente menos secreto al servicio de su majestad la reina de Inglaterra antes de pasar el testigo a Daniel Craig.

El día 1 de Septiembre ser reunió el elenco que forma la película All you need is love, que será presentada en el día de hoy oficialmente, fuera de concurso. En las imágenes vemos a los protagonistas Pierce Brosnan y Trine Dyrholm junto a su directora la danesa Susanne Bier. La película se rodó en Amalfi (Italia) y Dinamarca, en la primavera-verano de 2011, en idiomas inglés y danés.
Se presenta avalada por haber sido ganadora de un Oscar, su directora Susanne Bier y por la cuidada realización de la pelócula.
